Never let someone tell you can’t do something…

One who fears Allah SWT has nothing else to fear. Don’t let the dunya (world) grind you down.

True faith is knowing we have the potential to succeed, using the natural God given abilities we were born with. Our success is encoded into our very DNA. Whenever we feel down, know that we are here today, because our ancestors were survivors, great people who triumphed over tremendous challenges in order to ensure their progeny had Life.

The only things truly standing in the way of success, are our own doubts. Conquer your doubts and be the dream you’ve always dreamed you can be. Successful are those who get up every time they fall. No one will get through Life without stumbling at some point, but the mark of a person of faith, is they never give up.

A Free and Open World, Depends on a Free and Open Internet

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem:

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Defend the Internet from the greedy banksters, crooked politicians, charlatan pastor-mullahs and other freaks who desire to destroy it!

“Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: The greatest jihad is to speak the word of truth to a tyrant.”
~ Mishkat, Book of Rulership and Judgment, ch. 1, sec. 2

Google is calling for a massive internet uprising in the wake of censorship bills that will ruin internet freedom forever! They have dedicated the page www.google.com/takeaction to raising awareness concerning this madness; it is very important that we continue to keep our Human Family’s link to one another open, to flourish freely.

“A free and open world depends on a free and open Internet. Governments alone, working behind closed doors, should not direct its future. The billions of people around the globe who use the Internet should have a voice.”
~ Google

Should the proposed changes go ahead, the internet will quite simply cease to be, as whatever would be left would no longer be the internet! Not only would this impact on our liberties, but it would harm our economies through reduced networking opportunities, damage the cause for representative government and destroy our Human Family’s hopes of a brighter, more peaceful world tomorrow, less restricted by national borders and the unnecessary conflict between nations.

On behalf of the future, we ask those of the past to leave us alone. You are not welcome among us. You have no sovereignty where we gather.

We the People of the Internet have no elected government, nor are we likely to have one; therefore we address those who would tyrannise us with no greater authority than that with which Liberty always speaks. We declare the global social space we are building to be naturally independent of the tyrannies you seek to impose on us.

Governments and corporations have no moral right to rule us, nor do they have the means to stop us!

Together we can and will move forward to bring into being a brighter tomorrow, but in order to do that, we all need to work together and defend the right to freely communicate without interference from greedy banksters, crooked politicians and charlatan pastor-mullahs who would stand in the way of our collective vision.

The Enemy Within…

By Paul Salahuddin Armstrong
Co-Director, AOBM

“A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city.

But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.

He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.”

Marcus Tullius Cicero, from a speech to the Roman Senate.

Today there are some within the Muslim community (ummat ul momineen), who blame all our problems on others; be it America or Israel, consumerism or globalisation, communism or capitalism etc. While all this time, we’re not facing up to the fact that many of the problems our community faces, are self-inflicted! There are some calling for jihad, yet they neglect the real jihad - jihad means struggle or striving, although there are some who only interpret it as warfare!

Twelve men have been arrested during anti-terrorist operation

Sayings of the Last Prophet – Muhammad (pbuh):

“The greatest jihad (struggle) is with one’s self.”

“Whoever suppresses his anger, when he has it in his power to show it,
God will give him a great reward.”

“Do you love your Creator? Love your fellow beings first.”

“Wish not, nor pray for death before its time comes.”

The suspects, all males, were detained by unarmed officers about 05:00 GMT on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism in the UK.

All were arrested at or near their home addresses, with the exception of one suspect from Stoke who was at a domestic property in Birmingham. Searches are now being conducted at their home addresses, plus the address in Birmingham and another residence in London. The suspects will be held at police stations in Central London, the North West and the West Midlands.

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner John Yates, national lead for counter-terrorism policing, said it was a “large-scale, pre-planned, intelligence-led” operation involving several forces. “The operation is in its early stages so we are unable to go into detail at this time about the suspected offences. However, I believe it was necessary at this time to take action in order to ensure public safety.” he said.

The Association of British Muslims commends the sensitive way the raids were carried out, on what is considered by police to be an “Al Qaeda” inspired plot. The officers who arrested the men were unarmed, suggesting the police felt there was no serious threat against them. Ongoing assistance has been offered to families of those arrested by the police.

Sources suggest the plotters were planning to set off a number of bombs in “multiple locations” over the holiday period. Theresa May, the British Home Secretary, was fully briefed on the raids before they took place.

The operation is being led by DAC Stuart Osborne – Senior National Coordinator Terrorist Investigations, and coordinated from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit. It also involves the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command, South Wales Police and Staffordshire Police.

Sources suggest that the arrested men do not have any connection with Taimur Abdulwahab al-Abdaly, the Stockholm suicide bomber who lived in Luton for many years.

The Association of British Muslims commends any non-violent action for the protection of innocent life. Indeed, we offer our services and support to any individual, group or agency that wishes to promote dialogue/discussion with the larger community, in furthering understanding of grievance and/or policies that effect any particular section of society.

We call upon people of all backgrounds to work together in tackling extremism in every form, whether religious or political, and to promote dialogue to help reveal that middle ground in which we can all make progress together.

Jihad, which literally means ‘struggle’ has internal, societal and combative dimensions. The internal dimension of jihad, encompasses the struggle against any evil inclinations of the self, and the spiritual path to adorn one’s self with virtues such as justice, mercy, generosity and kindness. The societal dimension includes struggling against social injustice and creating a communal identity based on charity, respect and equality. Finally, the combative aspect of jihad, is only to be used as self-defence against aggression or to fight oppression, and even then, only to be observed within strict limits of conduct that preserves the life of civilians and the sanctity of the environment. Moreover, this latter type of jihad can only be declared by a legitimate recognised government, not some unknown entity hiding in the wilderness…

Neither the law of Islam, nor its ethical system justify such a crime as murder.

Salahuddin’s Speech

“The stronger one is the one who can absorb the violence and anger from the other and change it to love and understanding. It is not easy; it is a lot of work. But this is the real jihad.” – Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bukhari
