Received a message in the inbox of my Facebook page on Friday which asked, “R u a Jew?”. Seriously, who asks that?

Anyone who knows me or has been monitoring my activities, would know of my faith, my work and have some idea about what I believe, but that is by the by.

I must confess, this isn’t the first time I’ve been asked this question. While occasionally someone who doesn’t know much about either Islam or Judaism will (understandably) ask if I’m Jewish? Out of genuine curiosity. When this is not the case, I can only think of a few reasons why I’d be asked that question…

All I can say is that in such cases, it says a great deal about the person asking, a point maybe they’d find it useful to reflect upon…
