We are shocked and appalled about the raid conducted on Masjid Al-Aqsa by Israeli police. Especially that this took place during the holy month of Ramadan. All places of worship are sacrosanct, places of prayer and devotion to God.

People must be able to feel safe in places of worship and free to be able to connect with God. That this occurred at the third holiest site within Islam and the first qibla of Islam is more disturbing, and during the holy month of Ramadan, heartbreaking for Muslims to witness.

We worry too about the level of unrest and turmoil in the Holy Land and call upon all parties to come together, resolve their differences and build a peaceful, safe, and prosperous future for the Palestinians and all communities in the Holy Land.
