Today, I continue my reading from the opening section of Imam Al-Ghazali’s Ihya Ulum Al-Din (The Revival of the Religious Sciences), The Book of Knowledge, translated by Nabih Amin Faris (1988), pages 29-39, discussing knowledge whose acquisition is deemed fard kifayah (a religious obligation upon a Muslim community as a whole).
