Sufi Meditation 12.09.2022

Salam alaikum! 🙏🏻

“Truly, Abraham was equal to a community in himself; he was devoted to obeying God. He turned from all that is wrong — and he was not among those idolaters. He was grateful for the grace poured out on him by God — God had chosen him and guided him along a straight path. And so We granted him favor in this world: truly, in the life to come he will be among the righteous.”
~ Holy Quran 16:120-2 (Safi Kaskas)

This week’s Sohbet and Sufi Meditation is dedicated to the memory of my dear father, Richard Kevin Armstrong, who passed away two years ago today. I discuss some aspects of my Dad’s life and my earliest memories.

I follow on from this with some discussion on how we Muslims present Islam and how we need to be far more understanding and compassionate to people who don’t necessarily share our approaches to religion or culture. We might be shortsighted, but Allah certainly is not — he sees and hears everything!

We end with the traditional weekly dhikr/meditation of the Naqshbandi tariqat.
