I was just reading some of the beautiful words of wisdom of Imam Ali عَ, when I read this particular quote…

“The worth of a man is according to his courage, his truthfulness is according to his balance of temper, his valour is according to his self-respect and his chastity is according to his sense of shame.”

I couldn’t help but think of my late teacher, Shaykh Daoud Rosser-Owen ق. Ever since I knew my shaykh, I couldn’t help but be struck by how fully he embodied these noble qualities of the believing gentleman.

May Allah ﷻ bless Shaykh Daoud’s soul and raise his station in Paradise and continue to bless his wife, daughters and family with good health, long lives, and the best of this life and the next.

Allahumma salli ala sayyidina Muhammadin wa ala ali sayyidina Muhammadin wa barik wa sallim.
