Salam alaikum and Jummah Mubarak!

We are approaching Rabi al-Awal, when many Muslims celebrate Mawlid an-Nabi (the Birthday of the Prophet). So I felt it would be a good idea to discuss the topic of praising the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and whether there is any evidence to back this up in classical sources.

As always, I highly recommend people to follow up any research I share with their own research. We all benefit immensely from our own reading and study, and do not have to rely so much on others when we understand our religion ourselves.

A person who has little knowledge and understanding of their religion can be easily intimidated by anyone, and especially preachers who claim to have a lot of knowledge. Whereas a person who has done the study and research themselves will not be intimidated by anyone, as they know what they’re doing.
